The Florida Running Company Brew Mile Fall Series is visiting Titanic Brewing Company to promote running and walking in a fun, social atmosphere! They combine their love for running and enjoyment of craft beer for a social event that’s a run/walk with prizes, giveaways and awards–and the awards aren’t for the fastest! Yes, it’s only one mile, and yes, you can do it! This is a social event combined with running and walking, and it’s just one mile! Families, pets and strollers are welcome. This is a very casual event, so don’t expect chip timing, instant results, a certified course or aid stations along the way! It’s about getting moving, having fun, and celebrating the social aspects of health and fitness! Your $5 entry gets you into the run/walk and one beer (or other beverage if you’re under age or prefer something different). All proceeds go to fund programs by Running With Sole. Running With Sole helps others put their best foot forward by providing shoes to those in need, promoting physical activity and preventing childhood obesity. If you’re a little out of shape or lacking motivation, this is a good way to jump-start your fitness plan. They’ll also have test shoes on hand, so if yours are getting a little old or you want to try the latest and greatest, the vendor partners will be happy to help.
Wednesday, December 18, 7pm -ArtCenter/ South Florida, 800-810 & 924 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach
Between Walls - Juan López. Presented in partnership with Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and Bass Museum of Art. On view November 16, 2013 – January 12, 2014. CURATOR WALK-THROUGH Wednesday, December 18, 2013 | 7pm. Juan López’ work explores the aesthetic possibilities of the urban environment, playing with spaces, mixing video projections and installations, designing complex iconic buildings and changing the perception of the architecture. In Between Walls, he introduces the pedestrian mall into the gallery in one piece while exposing the exhibition and its visitors through another. By extending drawing onto the gallery’s architecture, López manipulates the interior of the space. These interventions that modify the established could be considered a form of poetic resistance. tc: temporary contemporary at the Bass Museum of Art is made possible through the support of ArtPlace, National Endowment for the Arts, Knight Foundation and Funding Arts Network, Inc.
