Prometeo Theaters Presents “Dos Corazones”Saturday, May 18, 8 pm & 9:30 pm – Prometeo Theatre of the Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami Dade College, 300 N.E. Second Avenue, Miami

Prometeo Theater at Miami Dade College, the country’s only theater conservatory in Spanish announce the presentation of  Dos Corazones at the Koubek Center on Saturday May 18th at  8 pm and at 9:30 pm. This micro-theater play (20 minutes) – has been chosen to represent the conservatory at the Lincoln Center’s Director’s Lab West. The presentations will serve as fundraisers for the play to travel to LA.
Since its inception more than 35 years ago by Prometeo’s founder, Teresa Maria Rojas, mission has been to preserve Hispanic culture through theatre. With the vision and support of Dr. Eduardo Padrón, president of Miami Dade College, Prometeo Theatre serves more than 500 theatre arts students every year, transforming the landscape of Spanish theatre in Miami along the way. In the fall of 2006, Prometeo entered a new phase, becoming part of the Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami Dade College under the direction of Joann Maria Yarrow and the guidance of the Center’s Executive Director, Alina Interián. Prometeo offers classes throughout the year in Acting, Voice and Speech, Movement, Singing, Playwriting and Camera-acting Technique as well as specialized workshops in Stage Combat, Commedia del’Arte, Contact Improv, Viewpoint training and much more.

This event promises to be a first class testament to the life of Jorge Brouwer, as well as a showcase of JNF’s significant progress thus far. Guests will be treated to unlimited top shelf cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, charity auction, live music and performers, a showcase of the past JNF Dream Trips, celebrity appearances and much more. Over 400 South Floridian’s will celebrate the evening while contributing to a noble mission; one that offers the opportunity and life-changing experience to enhance the lives of Children in South Florida through travel who are or have been stricken with a terminal or debilitating health condition or illness. Doctors Hospital’s Mad for Mod Ball will take you back to the style of the 60′s – lava lamps, GoGo dancers and whoopie pies! The gala will benefit Doctors Hospital Foundation and the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. The evening will kick off at 7 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and dancing. Manny & Lory Castro’s Dance Town Miami Untouchables, of “America’s Got Talent” fame, will entertain you. Browse the silent auction and bid high in the live auction with exciting items like a week on The World Residences at Sea ship, a makeover from TLC’s “What Not To Wear” hair stylist Ted Gibson, a princess package complete with a Rene Ruiz gift certificate, jewelry from Neiman Marcus, a four night stay at the Azul Beach Hotel in Mexico and more! The new, larger ICU will be a state-of-the-art space with the most sophisticated equipment. Each room will have 24-hour off-site electronic monitoring through the eICU LifeGuard program. The 11th Annual FedEx/St. Jude Angels & Stars Gala will celebrate St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, its International Outreach Program (IOP) and the efforts being made to find cures for deadly pediatric diseases like cancer through research and treatment.
