The Russian Pavilion is a juried exhibition showcasing emerging, mid- career and established artists from Russia, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Baltic regions during leading international fairs of contemporary and modern art. The Russian Pavilion is envisioned as a forum for critics, collectors and connoisseurs to view the works and to have a unique possibility to meet some of the artists in person. Several cultural institutions in the United State supported the idea of Russian Pavilion and became its cultural partners, including the Museum of Russian Art (New Jersey), the Kolodzei Art Foundation, Kavachnina Contemporary, Northern Cross and the Russian American Cultural Center. Such presentations of Russian culture abroad are certainly not new. Sergei Diaghilev (1872-1929) was one of the first advocates for Russian art and culture abroad. The 1907 Russian Seasons Abroad tour was a sensation for European audiences and a triumph for Russian art. The Russian Pavilion continues the tradition of Russian Seasons into the 21st century by presenting contemporary living artists from different locations. Russian Pavilion NY was recognized as an official part of Armory Arts Week and was praised as one of the most exciting exhibits. Opening Hours: Tuesday, December 3rd VIP and press preview 2pm – 9 pm. Special Events: Wednesday, December 4th – Sunday, December 8th 12pm -9pm. Gala event, Friday, December 6th 10pm – 2 am, with special performance by Ariana.

Caribbean Fantastic: The Work of Jean Claude Legagneur aims at reintroducing the Haitian master to the international public of Art Basel Miami. Absent from the South Floridian scene for decades, Jean Claude Legagneur comes back to Miami at a time when, contemporary art, exhausted by an at nauseam repetition of Marcel Duchamp’s’ famous gesture of exhibiting a urinal, does not realize that it has lost all its potential power of subversion. Legagneur, far from this boisterous claim, remains within a more discreet approach with works that retain a real liberating dimension. Caribbean Fantastic: is an exhibition of about Fifty works (50) by the Haitian master artist. Caribbean Fantastic: is organized by the Florida Africana Studies Consortium of South Florida (FLASC), the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami, Hollywood Artist United for Haiti and the local / international committee. The exhibition runs from 1 December 2013 to January 2, 2014 with opening night coinciding with the official opening of Art Basel Miami December 4, 2013. Caribbean Fantastic: will be accompanied by a series of arts programs and related events designed to highlight Caribbean and African Diaspora aesthetic productions and black contemporary issues in these times of globalization and transnationalism.
