Saturday, December 31, 2pm – Commodore Plaza and Main Highway, Coconut Grove
Miami gets a chance to let its freak flag wave every Dec. 31 at the King Mango Strut, a spoof of the Orange Bowl Parade with a cast of characters mocking all the strange and hilarious events of the past year. This years theme: Occupy the Grove, complete with pseudo-protestors, pickapeppa spray and plenty of cardboard signs. The Grand Marshall will be Zoo Miami’s Communications Director Ron Magill. Parade begins at 2pm on Commodore Plaza and Main Highway in the heart of Coconut Grove. Heads up main Highway and turns left at Grand Avenue and back to Commodore Plaza. After the parade, the King Mango Music Massacre begins, with entertainment and bands playing all over The Grove to get you ready for New Year.
