“A Night In Havana” art and fashion exhibition event, hosted by Celebrity TV Host Mariana Rodriguez, featured a unique collaboration between renowned artist Humberto Benitez and fashion powerhouse Ella Bella RoZio. Guests were transported back in time to Cuba in the 1950s to experience the sounds, cocktails by DIAGEO, gourmet Cuban food and cigar rolling by Azucar Cuban Cuisine & Cigars, silent auction, dancing and entertainment.
The exhibition consisted of seven of Benitez’s most famous paintings including Liliam, Vestido Azul, Los Invitados, Romance in the Bar, Tu Canción and El Alcazar, who are known for its vibrant colors, movement and texture, paired with Ella Bella RoZio’s Couture collection of unique and umcomprable artistic designs. Their use of intricately tailored silks and imported embellishments, intertwine the story told between fashion and art. The highlight of the evening was be a special unveiling of the collaboration between both artists, in an exclusive painting of Benitez called “Hilda,” dedicated to Benitez’s beloved aunt in Havana, who was a couture seamstress. The special painting was sold during the exhibition as a limited edition poster.
Miami Fashion Network and founder Jessica Rae Anderson, along with hosts, image consultant, Beau Beasley; stylist, Brandon Fogel; Noble Uniforms founder, Stacey Galbut and fashion insider, Ani Sierra, gathered together Miami’s fashion industry professionals and influencers for its official launch. Miami Fashion Network (MFN) introduces the first-ever online platform of fashion trade resources and interactive sourcing workshop, built to better service the needs of business owners, as well as emerging and established designers in South Florida. The InterContinental Miami and Make-A-Wish Southern Florida invited the next generation of contributors and Miami’s premier buzz creators in the fashion, arts, music and nightlife industries to the 6th Annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Starlight Nightclub on Saturday, November 2, following the InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball. The 6th Annual InterContinental Make-A-Wish Starlight Nightclub dazzled downtown Miami with a La Nuit Magique inspired evening featuring progressive beats by DJ Joe Dert and a Vaudeville-infused fashion show from world renowned cutting-edge designer Traver Rains.
Dionea Orcini, the fine jewelry brand inspired by traditions of the ancient world, opened its first concept store on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 1 NE 40th St. in the Miami Design District. A showcase for designer Dionea Orcini’s capabilities, the boutique featured products from each of the line’s 11 collections. Open for one week only, the boutique brought Orcini’s distinctive designs to the Design District from Monday, October 21st through Saturday, October 26th.
Keeping with the brand’s flair for the dramatic, the temporary boutique’s décor was refined and monochromatic. White walls contrasted dark floors while an all-white lounge area was surrounded by white orchids and candles. Photographs, shot for the brand’s lookbook by French photographer Remi Rebillard, were enlarged and hung throughout the space.
In celebration of the fine jeweler’s first retail space, the designer herself hosted a tea party for Miami’s social swans. Dubbed “Tea with Tara” for the afternoon’s co-host Tara Solomon, the event brought out notable Miami socialites such as Linda Levy Goldberg, Dana Shear, Deborah Scarpa, Laura Buccelatti, Rachel Finger, Frances Sevilla Secasa, Jennifer Valoppi, Carol Iacovelli, Nicole Lozano, and Iran Issa Kahn. Guests enjoyed tea canapés while hearing Orcini share the stories behind each ornate piece.
Vanidades Magazine’s 8th Annual “Magia de la Moda” (The Magic of Fashion) showcases top Latino designers and this year featured fashion shows by Venezuelan fashion designer Nicolas Felizola, Vanidades Icon of Style 2013 and Nick Verreos, of Los Angeles based fashion brand Nikolaki, “Project Runway” alumnus.
The event gathered celebrities, stylists, entertainers and all around fashionistas that were looking forward to previewing the Nikolaki red carpet collection. Nicolas Felizola has dressed many Venezuelan celebrities, including various former “Miss Venezuela” and Venezuelan TV personalities.

South Floridians attended Fashion Scene Miami, a fashion runway show benefiting Starlight Children’s Foundation, as part of Starlight’s 30th anniversary celebration, at LMNT Arts in the heart of Midtown Miami. Presented by Northwestern Mutual, Starlight’s Fashion Scene Miami featured fashion show of international couture by Isabel Riera and Fabrizio DeCastro, exotic cars, a fashion collective of pop-up boutiques, live entertainment, succulent spirits and culinary delights from local restaurants, artwork and more.
During Fashion Scene Miami TLC filmed for an upcoming episode of their new show, “Bakery Boss” featuring Cake Boss’s Buddy Valastro. There was also a special recognition honoring Miami Children’s Hospital’s Dr. Mislen Bauer who is the Director of Clinical Genetics & Metabolism as well as Dr. Jose Rosa-Olivares the Director of Pediatric Care Center, for their unparalleled leadership and dedication in caring for pediatric patients with chronic health conditions. 100% of the revenue generated from the event will benefit Starlight Children’s Foundation, which partners with experts to improve the life and health of kids and families around the world.

Jennifer Aniston is headlining Saks Fifth Avenue’s 2013 Key to the Cure campaign. In support of this program, Aniston will appear in a national public service announcement wearing a limited-edition Key To The Cure T-shirt by celebrated designer Peter Dundas of Emilio Pucci. The T-shirt retails for $35 in Saks stores, and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH stores. 100% of the proceeds of the purchase price of each T-shirt will be donated to The Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center.
To help raise both money and awareness for women’s cancers, Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour once again partnered with Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center to host this year’s Key To The Cure, a charity shopping weekend taking place October 17 through October 20.
To launch the event, Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour hosted a Key To The Cure kick-off celebration on Wednesday, October 16, featuring hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment and, of course, shopping. The kick-off also featured tastings from Miami’s top restaurants and cocktails provided by Southern Wine & Spirits. During the shopping weekend, 2% of participating vendor sales from Saks Bal Harbour, up to $500,000, will be donated to the Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Over the years, the Miss Brasil USA pageant has became the biggest social event for the Brazilian eastern coast of the United States. In addition to celebrating the beauty of young candidates, this soiree is a genuine tribute to Brazil and all Brazilian immigrants. The event was created in late 1991 by journalist and producer Carlos Borges; and the first national finals of the competition took place in 1992, held in Brazil Carnival, Orlando, FL.
Masters of Ceremony for the 2013 Miss Brasil USA Pageant was be Adriana De Moura, Bravo TV’s The Real Housewives of Miami and the award-winning actor Vincent De Paul, with musical performances by renowned singer and actress, Tracy McMullan, recording artist, Mandel Winn, Roy Rosello, and special guest Dr. Robert Rey, a Brazilian plastic surgeon featured on the E! reality series Dr. 90210. Dr. Robert Rey is in private practice in Beverly Hills and specializes in cosmetic surgery.
The event was produced by Miss Brasil USA vice president, the entrepreneur, Daniele Quigley, and had it’s contestants walking on the stage in exuberant and luxurious swimsuit pieces designed by famous stylist, A.Z Araujo.
In celebration of its 80th Anniversary, Lacoste hosted an exclusive cocktail party held at Addict, the fashion sneaker destination at Bal Harbor Shops. Guest had the opportunity to mingle with renowned artist, Romero Britto, and have a chance to bid on Lacoste shoes hand painted by Britto, all while enjoying croctails, canapés and sounds by DJ Salin G and gift bags brimming with goodies. Anthony Kennedy Shriver, founder of Best Buddies International, and Dave Grange, Lacoste Footwear President of North America at Addict also joined the celebration.
To commend the iconic brands 80 year mark, Lacoste unveiled an exclusive 80th anniversary collection, offering a limited edition heritage style, the Rene Lacoste OG. The original René Lacoste tennis shoe was designed by the brand founder, otherwise known as “The Crocodile” in 1963. The classic silhouette has been recreated to the original specifications such as the pioneering color and authentic herringbone print. In addition to the original style being available for purchase at Addict, the silhouettes will be hand painted by Romero Britto, and available for auction at the event with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit Best Buddies.

Miami HEAT NBA Champion Dwyane Wade hosted a fashion fundraiser, “A Night on the RunWade” for his Wade’s World Foundation. Guets enjoyed cocktail reception, live entertainment, silent and live auctions, and a fashion show presented by Hublot. Hosted by fashion correspondent, Jill Martin, and news anchor, Louis Aguirre, the runway show highlighted the latest Fall collections from Neiman Marcus.
“Fashion and having style are very important to me, along with giving back to my community. I look forward to seeing new designs on the runway, and am proud to be able to continue this event returning for its second year,” said Wade. Wade’s World Foundation has also teamed up with Miami International University of Art & Design to create a contest where three finalists will be chosen to feature some of their designs in the fashion show. This contest gives students the opportunity to live their dream by having their own designs highlighted by the basketball giant alongside designers from Neiman Marcus.
