Beaux Arts will celebrate its 65th annual ball with “The Greatest Show on Earth.” Miami’s longest running costume ball will be held at the Ritz Carlton in Coconut Grove where guests will go under the big top for a fun and philanthropic night benefitting Beaux Arts educational programs. Guests will be immersed in a thrilling world of lion tamers, acrobats, and clowns. The vintage theme circus ball will feature an open bar sponsored by Bacardi, a luxurious auction, live entertainment, and surprise guests you won’t want to miss. The event is chaired by Cia Mackle, Gigi Citarella Polit, and Amanda Thompson. The gala will pay tribute to the 65 past presidents of the organization, while celebrating Beaux Arts rich 65 year history of arts education to school children across South Florida. Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade 11th Annual “Wild About Kids” GalaSaturday, November 11, 6:30pm-12am – JW Marriott Marquis Miami, 255 Biscayne Boulevard Way, Miami

Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade hosted its 11th annual black-tie “Wild About Kids” Gala at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami. The theme of this year’s event was “The Great Gatsby,” produced by by WOW Factor. The event kicked off with a cocktail reception, silent auction and fashion showcase of evening and formal wear courtesy of Bloomingdale’s at The Falls, followed by dinner, program, dancing, live entertainment by the band “The Culture” from Hammocks Entertainment, and special live performance by Latin pop duo SanLuis. South Florida’s top community leaders, philanthropists and socialites had a special opportunity at the event to sponsor a child through donations.

This year’s “Wild About Kids” Gala chairs were Juan José Delgado and Jorge Luis López, with Olga Guilarte as the special event chair. During the festivities, Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade  honor the late Michael S. Gordon, M.D., Ph.D., developer of Harvey, a cardiopulmonary patient simulator used at nearly 700 medical centers around the world; and his widow Mrs. Lynda Gordon, with the Charles “Bebe” Rebozo Humanitarian Award.

The gala proceeds will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s many positive programs, including after school programs, homework assistance, computer training, social skills, dance, arts & crafts, professional mentoring, and summer and athletic programs, for area children who need them the most. Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade has been serving youth in the community since 1940. What once was a single building and site for boys has grown to five Clubs serving thousands of boys and girls year round, providing programs in the areas of character and leadership development, educational enhancement, career preparation, health and life skills, cultural arts and sports, fitness and recreation. Club staffing, initiatives, and programs are designed to inspire and enable young people and provide them with the resources to succeed and share in the American Dream.

The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale hosted its first annual Junior League JULE at the beautiful Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach. The event was an 80th Anniversary Celebration to recognize the longevity and impact of the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale and its remarkable history of community service and legacy organizations. The Junior League JULE is a fundraiser for members, donors, and other supporters. All proceeds will support the organization’s initiatives, which include human trafficking awareness and childhood fitness and nutrition. The evening featured a silent auction with items from both near and far, as well as an exclusive Kendra Scott jewelry pull, and special appearance by Fort Lauderdale Mayor, Jack Seiler. All guest also recived a special copy of the Junior League Cookbook, Paradise Served.

The InterContinental® Miami and Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida hosted the 23rd annual InterContinental® Miami Make-A-Wish® Ball, featuring a special performance by four time Grammy-award winning, multi-platinum-selling artist Lenny Kravitz, presented by the Finker-Frenkel Legacy Foundation. Regarded as one of the preeminent rock musicians of our time and selling over 40 million albums worldwide, Kravitz has transcended genre, style, race and class into a 20-year musical career.

The theme of this year’s ball is Mystical Music Box inspired by enchantment, fantasy and art. The evening started with a lavish cocktail reception where guests enjoyed  specialty cocktails and gourmet food stations while bidding at the Ball’s silent auction. The evening continued with dinner and dancing, followed by Gabrielle Anwar returning for the seventh consecutive year as celebrity emcee. 

The 10th Annual InterContinental® Miami Make-A-Wish Nightclub after-party presented by E11EVEN MIAMI, Downtown Miami’s 24/7 ultra-club was held immediately following the Ball at the InterContinental® Miami featuring a special DJ Performance by Snoop Dogg, performances by E11EVEN THEATR11CS, and a runway fashion show presented by Brickell City Centre’s Saks Fifth Avenue.


8th Annual LUCKYRICE Feast

The LUCKYRICE Feast was back to Miami to help raise money for Hurricane Irma relief efforts through a massive culinary showcase at the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel. With the help of more than 20 of the Miami’s hottest Asian and Asian-inspired restaurants and bars, LUCKYRICE donated the night’s proceeds to their charitable partner, Feeding South Florida, and the presenting sponsor, Suntory Whisky, will match all proceeds in an additional donation.

Essential to each LUCKYRICE Feast across the country is the culinary fabric of the host city. In the spirit of Miami, the menu will feature classic Asian favorites like a rich Japanese curry alongside innovative fusions with a Latin twist including a Chinese pork belly atop a tostone. Guests also stayed hydrated with Suntory Toki highballs, Bruce Cost Ginger Ale, and Asahi Beer while they made their way around the night’s jam-packed, walk-around tasting menu.

Works by renowned artists Francisco Zúñiga, Carlos Merida, Francisco Toledo, Rufino Tamayo, Jose Luis Cuevas, and Armando Morales will be featured.
