The 18th Brazilian Film Festival of Miami, a Inffinito event is the foremost showcase of Brazilian Cinema abroad. The South Florida stop is part of an international route that also includes the cities of Canudos/Brazil, Bogota, Vienna and Johannesburg. In addition to highlight the vibrant talent among Brazilian filmmakers, BRAFF 2014 will remember Vinicius de Moraes, one of Brazil’s most celebrated cultural icons, with a special screening. His songs can be heard in several movies, including in the documentary Vinicius, by Miguel Faria Jr., about his life and career, shown on August 17th at the Miami Beach Cinematheque. Eight shorts and nine feature films will be competing for the Crystal Lens Award in several categories: best film, director, actor and best actress. The complete Brazilian experience will also be savored with “Taste of Brazil”, where local restaurants will be serving dishes inspired by Brazilian culinary throughout the event.
