“Eye of Hope” Art Auction to Benefit Children with CancerPosted on: September 6th, 2014 by SoFlaNights.com
Coinciding with Children’s Cancer Awareness month, Eye of Hope showcased photographs taken by children with the Children’s Caring Cancer Center (CCCC) that captured their hopes and inspirations in their daily life. Patients as young as five were each given a camera to document their happiness and inspiration. Through their creative expression, via the lens of a camera and their creative eye, children experienced life in a new possibility, leaving people touched, moved and inspired. These photos were available via art auction.
Trough Eye of Hope, children also had the opportunity to interact with a celebrity artist and this year the collaboration was established with GG as featured artist. Gabriel Gimenez, better known as GG, has a relentless curiosity, exploring his imagination trough art. Born in Venezuela and residing in Miami, GG is one of the city’s most sought-after pop artist, most known for his infamous character, Fado, and friends, who can be seen in galleries and murals around the city. 50% of the proceeds from sales of GG’s artwork during the Eye of Hope will be donated to CCCC.
All remaining proceeds raised during this event will be donated to CCCC, a not-for-profit corporation organized and operated for the purpose of raising funds and other assets to support a total care program for children afflicted with cancer regardless of race, color or ethnic origin; to administer and maintain ancillary programs that alleviate suffering and anguish of these children and their families; and to educate individuals and groups about the profound needs of cancer-stricken children.
