Lladró Boutique Grand Opening in Miami Design DistrictPosted on: October 21st, 2015 by Laura Caldera
Lladró, celebrated a new boutique grand opening in the heart of the Miami Design District, starting with an exclusive signing event, with the son of original co-founder Vicente Lladró, David Lladró, and followed by cocktail reception. Based in Valencia, Spain, Lladró was founded by the three brothers, Juan, José and Vicente Lladró, in 1953. The company began in their hometown of Valencia, with a home-made Moorish furnace. Today, “Lladró is a global brand and we are well across over 120 countries.”
When asked what he wished to see accomplished by tonight’s events, Mr. Lladró answered, “We want to share with our clients in the South Florida and the Miami, the joy of opening this Lladró space, and showing them that we want to be here in South Florida and Miami, “It is to be here with friends and clients, and media and show them the opening.”
He also mentioned that Miami was the only major city that they hadn’t established a connection with, “Miami is a destination city that we haven’t been to with our own stores for a long, long time. Having the opportunity with the development of these new malls in the Design District, it was an opportunity that we couldn’t miss.”
Along with the grand opening of Lladró was announcement of a new partnership with Operation Smile, a charity organization whose main goal is to provide surgeries for children born with a cleft lip. Lladró began with Operation Smile in 2006 with the U.S.A and it worked out so well that by 2007 they had stretched their support from American Lladró stores to every other boutique and store on their map. Today, Operation Smile and Lladró have raised over $350,000; an approximate 1,400 surgeries paid for.
