Hialeah Park is celebrating their casino operations’ fourth anniversary with a spectacular lineup of concerts beginning Thursday, August 24, and running through Sunday, August 27, 2017. Planned events include performances by Miami’s disco / salsa queen Lucy Grau (Thursday, August 24, 9 p.m., Fountain Terrace), Spanish crooner Danny Daniel and Cuban singer / songwriter Amaury Gutierrez (Friday, August 25, Paddock Garden), Cubaton stars Gente de Zona (Saturday, August 26, 32nd Street Parking Lot Stage), the charanga master Jose Fajardo, Jr. and the mambo heir Tito Puente, Jr. (Sunday, August 27, Fountain Terrace). There will be food trucks curated by the Cuban Guys, sets by the regular DJs Larry Lopez and El Russo, and more. In addition, a car and truck show is planned for Sunday, August 27 in the Paddock Garden from noon to 4 p.m. All concerts and the car show are free and open to the public except for the Saturday show by Gente De Zona. #HP4thAnniversary @HialeahPark

Out The Huddle will be kicking off the 2017 Miami Hurricane Football season with an “OTH Launch Party” at BlackMarket Miami. Jon Vilma, DJ Williams, Brett Romberg, Antrel Rolle, and Peter Ariz will deliver a live podcast to talk about the upcoming season and how they think the 2017 Canes stack up against the rest of the nation. OTH Members will receive discounts off of drinks all night and will have access to a Q&A session during the live podcast.

Arc Broward will continue their pop-up dinner series, Traveling Plate, in August with Chef David Peck of Box of Chacos. Enjoy a Chef Peck’s unique dining experience while supporting culinary students with disabilities and other life challenges. The menu includes dishes with a mix of flavors from all over Asia, blended with Chef David’s take on Latin cuisine. Wine pairings will be provided by Jackson Family Wines. The Traveling Plate gives students of Arc Culinary the opportunity to work with local chefs. The revenue generated helps students with disabilities and other life challenges transform their lives and build new futures.

Since 1956, Arc Broward has worked hand-in-hand with the community to provide the encouragement and opportunities that create life-challenging outcomes so that people with disabilities and other life challenges can live, work, and play in their communities. Arc Broward operates at nine locations and provides 21 programs throughout Broward County. These include Arc Broward’s mission-based enterprises that provide training and employment opportunities for individuals served while generating revenue to help fund services. Farmer’s Table is serving up laughs table-side for their new, bi-monthly (twice a month) comedy series, Lettuce Laugh. Hosted by local comedian, Jen Hellman, the third installation will feature headliner Erik Meyers on August 24th. Guests will also enjoy laughs from special comedian guests including Terry Wayne and Jackie Sanchez. This series will take place in The Oak Room, Farmer’s Table’s private event space. Cocktails and bar bites will be available. Menu highlights include Baked Chicken Fingers, Chicken Meatball Sliders with Yukon gold steak fries; Vegan Spinach and Artichoke Dip with baked GMO free corn chips; and Not-Yo Nachos, baked GMO-free corn chips topped with pico de gallo, vegan chili, guacamole, crispy chickpeas, vegan mozzarella and vegan sour cream.
