The 6th Edition of “Miami Performance Festival International ’17” (M/P ’17) will take place from June 23-25, 2017. M/P ’17 will be staged in five different venues around Miami-Dade County with different countries represented and a host of local talent . The festival will show a variety of works and will encourage viewers to investigate performance art and Noise artistic influence and contributions to our visual and sound culture and will provide the viewer with a unique performance and sound experience beyond the realm of traditional art. A four-days long interdisciplinary complex multi-leveled platform which will include videos of performances, live performances, noise, experimental sound art audience participation, publications, artist talks and visual art exhibitions, demonstrates the commitment by Edge Zones to the professional development of South Florida artists in national and international forum.

M/P ’17 is a stage for both young and emerging artists, curators, critics, and scholars to present their latest work. This world-class performing arts festival will provide the opportunity for our live audience of approximately 7,000 to engage deeply with the ideas emerging from these provocative works. Miami Performance International Festival (M/P’17) seeks to continue to expand and provide a platform for South Florida-based performance and sound artists to create new work in Miami. This “challenge”, also bringing professionals together for the sake of a common goal: pushing the boundaries of their practice and making that same work accessible to a wider audience.

South Florida’s newest culinary addition, Wine Date, will feature a full wine-tasting room, retail area and bar for those lovers of the grape. Wine Date is the first concept launched by Linda Bucaram Pulley and Pablo Gamboa Wills, with plans to open additional locations in other markets. Aluna Art Foundation and Concrete Space Projects cordially invite you to the Closing Reception of this Exhibition, with a Guided Tour by curators Adriana Herrera and Willy Castellanos (Aluna Curatorial Collective). The exhibition features invited artist Chema Madoz, and recovers historic works by Hexágono: Equipo de Creación Colectiva (Havana, 1982-1985), integrated by Consuelo Castañeda, Humberto Castro, Sebastián Elizondo, Abigail García, María Elena Morera and Tonel. “The Object and the Image” established a prompt dialog between local artists from different nationalities, and will feature works from (in alphabetical order): Francis Acea (Cuba/USA), Mauricio Alejo (Mexico), Néstor Arenas (Cuba/USA), Susana Blasco (Spain), Karim Borjas (Venezuela/France), Álvaro José Brunet (Cuba), Isaac Cordal (Spain), Marina Font (Argentina/USA), Xavier G-Solís (Spain), Juan Sí González (Cuba/USA), Jesús Hdez-Güero (Cuba), Ronald Morán (Salvador), Martha María Pérez Bravo (Cuba/Mexico), Cecilia Paredes (Peru/USA), Rainy Silvestre (Cuba/USA) and Viviana Zargón (Argentina). #AlunaArtFoundation
