The Global Arts Project, Inc. and the Collins Park Neighborhood Association celebrate International Jazz Day with a FREE performance by vocalist Vivian Sessoms. Dr. Ed Calle’s student jazz ensemble will open the afternoon, and there will be a farmer’s market courtesy of the Market Company. Vivian Sessoms has been a featured vocalist for several artists, including Chris Botti (Jazz trumpeter), Harold Mabern (legendary jazz pianist), Eric Benet, Will Downing, Towa Tei (Dee-Lite), Ryuichi Sakamoto (Japanese composer), David Morales (DJ), Junior Vazquez (DJ), Mads Baerentzen (jazz pianist), and Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20), and has toured worldwide with these artists and others.

We do this each year by raising funds through various fundraisers to give scholarships to young women who plan to pursue careers in these fields and provide mentoring opportunities with our members who are established women in these fields. Join the 9th Annual Tropical Brunch on April 30th to help us raise funds to support these young women. The more funds we raise the more scholarships we can provide! Children and pets are welcome! Enjoy culinary creations from our fellow Dames as well as local Chefs, restaurants and gourmet food shops. Sip wine, beer and other libations while enjoying the beauty of Pinecrest Gardens. Tickets are $50 in advance for adults, and $25 for children 10-16. Children under 10 are free.
